Filming FaceTime video

Due to it being the Easter holidays, I had to film this FaceTime video on my own. As it is a FaceTime video, there are two separate people and locations that need to be recorded, therefore I had to film twice. I would have liked to film Tracy (main person) first, but due to scheduling problems I had to film Hannah first. As she is only going to be on the small camera screen, we filmed in her bedroom on her bed. She was struggling with the lines at points, so to help her I wrote out the lines on a piece of paper, so if she needed a little help she could refer to the lines. Filming Hannah was pretty successful, it only took a few attempts to get the final result.

A couple of days later I then filmed Tracy. We filmed her part of the script outside of my work, as when everyone had left it is nice and quiet and perfect to film in. It also has a dark corner where there are bins, a perfect location for the script. Even though she had learnt her lines, filming Tracy was slightly harder, as she had to say her lines between Hannah’s. After a few attempts of filming her, we realised that it wasn’t working with me simply nodding when she has to say her next line, we tried something else. We then tried playing Hannah’s recording on my phone, so that Tracy could hear it through earphones when  we were filming her. Dong it this way made the process a lot easier over all. It took a few attempts but in the end the final result was good. To double check that it was good, we played Hannah and Tracy’s recording together and both fit really well together and flowed nicely.

Even though it was slightly complicated to film, overall I am very happy with the way that it all went.

I am not the best at editing and Photoshop, so I have sent both of the videos to Harrison, so that he can edit them to look like a FaceTime call.
