On Location (sound)

We have split the film days into two.
Day 1 – Woodsy location

The first day we recorded in a woodsy area similar to where we shot our teaser trailer. We set up various camera angles in the evening to get the blue shallow erie feel. I used a Rode shotgun mic attached to a boom pole to receive the audio needed from our actor. I also used a tascam to get some of the background noises from cars and wildlife in the area. One of the issues we had was picking up some of the audio from cars approaching which would in turn ruin the audio from the actor. We had to time the shots correctly to miss any un-needed audio from cars passing.

Day 2 – House Location

The second day we recorded was located in a house. Today we had two actors filming their conversations and fight scene. In this location I have only needed use of the shotgun mic supplied with the camera & a boom pole. Recording the conversations where fairly straightforward. No background noise meant I could record any sound without interference.
