Recording/Editing Podcast
Using my home studio I will record the podcast. Dan has written a short script for me to read from, the podcast will include information of a missing girl. Using my pioneer S9 and sure 58 microphone I recorded the script into Serato, then imported the final audio file into Adobe Audition. Firstly I mastered and balanced the audio, applying a de-esser to my voice and cleaning up any pauses or breaths noticeable on the audio file. From hear I opened the effects rack and tweaked the audio file with flanger and delays to make the audio sound as if it was coming from an old FM radio, or a FM radio slightly further away from you.
Recording News Report
We have got the help of a friend that studies journalism. He has agreed to film a live recording of a script that we will supply. We have found a perfect location on the balcony inside the USW. We set up the camera and microphone boom looking out into the street, the view is brilliant and looks extremely clean and professional. Harrison will use Premier pro to edit the video adding colour grading and templates to the video making it look like a live broadcast. I will then tweak the audio making sure its clear. Finally we will add this video to our live website.
