Pictures

As we are creating our own website we obviously needed to create all the content and images. After researching other missing person websites, we realised that they like to create posters, or dramatic look pictures of lonely people in order to relate to their audience.

Pictures such as:

We decided to hire out a camera and go around the Uni building looking for good places to take pictures. We took some pictures of the receptionists, with permission of course, and a few other people around Uni, including ourselves. These images will just be the start of our website as we obviously need more. We just wanted a few so we could get the website running slightly and starting to look real.

Here’s some pictures of the BTS of our mini photoshoot:

Here is the risk assessment we did for our photoshoot:

Name:

Bethan Harding-Jones

Project Title: Vampire Website
Course Title:

Multimedia for Production and Broadcast.

Supervisor:

Robert Molcher

Shoot Date:

3rd November 2016.

Client & Location:

Atrium, USW.

Brief Description of What You Want to Film (the Script):

We firstly needed some pictures of people looking lonely and isolated. For example, people sat on the steps outside the Atrium on their phone, or people alone in the library.

We also needed to take pictures of some people looking official and like they were working.

We plan to ask some receptionists or library staff if we can take images of them working.

Brief Description of How You are Going to Film It (Plan):

We will hire out a camera from the University and we will walk around finding good locations and people to take pictures of. We will then ask permission of said people and take a few pictures of them.

Brief Description of the Location Where You Will be Filming:

The Atrium is the Cardiff Campus of University of South Wales. It is in the centre of Cardiff and is accessible by all people, there are lifts and stairs should we need to up, it is very open spaced and has lots of natural lights flooding in.

HAZARD ASSESMENT FORM (II)

HAZARD IDENTIFIED + RISK            PRECAUTIONS TAKEN

SLIP/TRIP HAZARD

-Inside the building: As we can’t control the people around us, anyone could drop something and not pick it up, in the library there will probably be bags on the floor and maybe even a few wires which we will need to look out for.

-Outside the building: As it is Autumn there will be leaves on the floor and most probably rubbish as we are very close to the City Centre and a main road.

PUBLIC OR AUDIENCE

– Inside the building: We are going to take these pictures during the Uni day, so there will be students and staff walking around however I doubt they will disrupt our images, we just need to make sure we don’t disrupt anyone from working.

-Outside the building: As we are taking our pictures next to a busy main road and close to the City Centre there will be random strangers passing by, however I feel that we’re in a pretty safe area of Cardiff, especially being next to the University so I feel we won’t have any issues with passers-by. We will however need to make sure we aren’t blocking any pathways.

PUBLIC ROADS

-Outside the building: We will be taking pictures next to a main road, however as they are only pictures the noise or cars will not affect us in any way, we will just need to be sure we are not too close to the road.

WEATHER EXPOSURE

-Outside the building: We obviously don’t know what the weather will be doing on this day, so we may have to put off taking pictures outside if it is raining in order to protect the camera equipment.
