Teaser Trailer Ideas/Creation

Idea

We have decided we will create a short 10-15 second teaser trailer for our project. We will make this subtle and fast as its a teaser. Following one of the girls in a red coat through a location yet to be determined. We will capture over the shoulder, full body and close up shots in a built up ‘woodsy’ area. In post edit we can fade the shots in and out of darkness to create a sense of alertness and add in SFX like steps and ominous sounds. We will use this teaser on our social media and group presentation.

Location

Harrison has found a brilliant location close to his home. It is a woodsy area with an over pass & pedestrian walk way underneath. Its a dark erie area, with a dimly lit lamppost. We can use LED lights for extra lighting if needed but this location will be perfect for what we need.

Film Day

Today myself, Harrison, Beth, Dan and our actor Laura (Little Red) headed to our location to film. We used one camera to take tripod assisted and hand held shots. We kitted Laura out with a big red coat for effect and followed her through the darkness of our location. I used my phone to capture footsteps and ambient sounds such as twigs snapping and deep breathing. I opted to use my phone over a task-cam as I felt the quality of my phone is just as good as what is received from a task-cam, It allows more space and less equipment needed.

Editing.

My self and Harrison edited the footage of the short teaser trailer. Harrison worked on the video footage while I edited the audio.

Audio – I used audio sounds I recorded on location, these consisted of shrubbery being stepped on twigs snapping and Laura breathing into the microphone. Combining on location sounds to sounds sourced online I managed to create an erie sound scape perfectly suited to our video.

Conclusion.

I feel the teaser trailer worked perfect for what we wanted to achieve, its spooky, erie and demonstrates the style of our final project.
