Content

After researching the layout and content that missing people websites contain, we each went away with a clear idea of what we needed to create. Harrison and Adam will be creating the main website, creating the buttons, colour scheme, forms and layout on photoshop then creating the website on Muse to upload. Whilst Dan, Chloe and I will create the content to go onto the website.

Chloe took on the task of creating different Missing People profiles and I decided to start writing important content such as ‘About’, ‘Contact’, ‘Who we are’ and ‘How we can help’ pages. I used a few missing people websites for help and guidance.

The sites I used were:

I copied the language and layout of these sites, in order to create professional yet caring extracts for our missing people website. I also made up a phone number, email and address in order for our charity website to seem realistic. I also added in a form as it adds more to our website and would be an easy way for the website users to get in contact.

This is what I have created so far:

About

We are an independent charity run by your donations.

Our website has been set up to help search for missing people on behalf of friends and family. We aim to give specialised support to those who have disappeared and those who have lost someone. Our confidential helpline is available 24 hours a day by phone and email giving support to missing children, adults and their families.

Give Time

Please visit our Missing page to find out who is missing in your area, spread the word about they’re disappearance or help by volunteering for Missing Persons Unit Wales.

Give socially

Join our search by following us on Facebook and Twitter. This way you’ll get up to date information on people missing in your area. The more shares we get on our page; the more chance we have of locating the missing people.

Who we are

Sally James

Sally is the founder of Missing People Unit Wales.

She created the charity in Llanishen after a local, young girl went missing in the early 2000’s, Sally set up a helpline from her bedroom so that people could call in with information, help or guidance for the friends and family. Missing People Unit Llanishen soon became a huge success.

With a team of dedicated volunteers, she extended her helpline to search for multiple missing people in the Llanishen area. They soon found themselves taking in cases and information for people missing all over Cardiff and some even further.

Sally and her team then decided to register themselves as a charity to help search for people all over Wales. Missing People Unit Wales was a massive achievement for Sally and the success was congratulated by Prince Charles himself in 2006.

To this day Sally is still involved in the charity, occasionally sitting in and taking calls in the helpline office. She enjoys the feeling of helping others and hopes that one day her children will take over the charity.
